is an exhibition printed in negative. it is an attempt to explore the nature and intelligence of the photographic image [and its subjects] beyond our commercial, narcissistic and sentimental predetermination.
they are photographs of red meat, animal skulls, and x-rays. in negative the meat turns blue(cyan), the skulls and x-rays black.
the works are 50cm x 50cm printed on ilford R/C black and white paper, and on Fuji Crystal Archive C41. all images were first photographed on transparency film (positve) and then printed in standard photographic fashion yielding the negative of the subjects
by john hodgkiss. |
